Reflection for UNIX SSH Client App Reviews

Professional quality app

This is a professional quality app, Im impressed. It supports a lot of host character sets (the default is DEC Supplemental), and terminal types up to VT 400–8. Very useful thing to have on your phone.

Good layout

I like the colors and layout. Good functionality.

Not up to Reflection standards

I miss iSSH to be honest and when I saw Reflection from Attachmate I about peed myself. Ive used Reflection for years in the enterprise environment and didnt even hesitate. Unfortunately this app fell short of that. Dont get me wrong, after digging around I figured out how to use RSA keys and get a color prompt. With that, I really wish that this app could rotate to landscape mode on my rather large iPhone 6 Plus. That and the lack of being able to create ssh tunnels really limits what I can do with this app.

Some problems.

Has problems connecting to some servers. I plugged in one IP and when I try to connect I get an error dialog telling me, "unable to to resolve address." I can connect just fine on the desktop. Needs a little more work to get some of the bugs out.

Fantastic SSH client

After spending around 12 hours trying to install Linux on various old laptops with no success, I found this SSH client and no longer need Linux. Reflection is customizable (font size, colors, etc.) and allows you to store user profiles so you dont need to log in when you start a session. Better than PuTTY!

Weak.

Not even close to what iSSH could do, still searching.

Good

Very handy!

Better and better...

App is being updated frequently. Solid app. Very professional.

Best free ssh app

I use the app to ssh into my raspberry pi 2 running arch linux. Works flawlessly!

cant start to use

I have iphone 4s, I know, my screen is small. The problem is so simple: I cant paste my private key.

Free keys for all

It will let me generate a new key-pair, and will display the pair for copy/paste. But despite having asked me to provide a password during the generation process, I am never prompted to supply it. I can kill the application and lock the ipad, but the application will happily display the key-pair as soon as I restart the application. It looks like the only thing between the world and my key-pair is the PIN on my device. Ill never know how its terminal features work, because this is going directly into the trash can.

Polished SSH client

Solid app with a pretty slick UI. An earlier reviewer complained about the SSH key pair passphrase not working. It works perfectly, the reviewer just does not understand its use. Setting a passphrase configures your key so that you have to enter a passphrase to use it. So every time you want to use your key with ssh, youll be prompted to enter this passphrase. Its not used to protect displaying the key pair in the app - the apps passcode feature does that. After setting a passcode youll be challenged for it when the app starts, and also when entering the identity management page. Nice!

Quite useable

So far, this is the best ssh client Ive tried. Looking forward to port forwarding options. I hope it to include auto setup for socks5 (-D option of Openssh).

Great app

Love the app. Easy to use and rarely encounter issues. Could benefit from features like tunneling and better color support.

Very nice

I use this to control a Raspberry Pi from my iPad. Works great.

Excellent app. A must have for anyone trying to use SSH on iOS

This is an excellent utility for anyone that needs to use CLI on iOS. This app comes with many useful keys such as the ctrl key and arrow keys.

IXD Needs Work

Overall design needs a rework. Probably a functional app but quit using it after losing patience with the design.

Awesome ssh client! Landscape mode is greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Landscape mode is greatly appreciated. Nice job!

I cant believe its not payware

I needed an SSH client to talk to my Debian server while my laptop was down. Just from the screenshots, I automatically assumed I was getting an ad-ridden piece of trial software until I coughed up some money. I was absolutely shell shocked when I realised it was free. In fact its so nice, I think Im going to start using it regularly. Its clear a lot of effort went into this to make it look as excellent as it does.

Great ssh client

As a sysadmin, I have high standards for an ssh client. This app is a great implementation, with lots of convenience functions and a clean interface. Well done!
